CloudAny’s agent-based cloud migration and disaster recovery solution offers a user-friendly approach to ensuring data integrity and availability. It comprises of two primary components: The CASource agent and CAServer. The CASource agent is installed on the source server or virtual machine (VM) and plays a crucial role in tracking changes in input/output (IO) operations. It then efficiently replicates these changes to the CAServer. Notably, the CASource agent is exceptionally lightweight, consuming a mere 1% of CPU and approximately 150MB of memory, ensuring minimal impact on the source system’s performance.

The CAServer, on the other hand, serves a dual purpose. On the source side, it acts as a replication gateway for source endpoints that lock direct internet access. On the target side, the CAServer receives replicated data from the source server, converts the source to the target cloud format, and manages recovery and failover functions. Additionally, CAServer serves as the central management console, enabling users to oversee and control the entire migration or disaster recovery process, simplifying the overall experience.

In VMware environments, CloudAny goes a step further by supporting agent-less migration and disaster recovery. This achievement is made possible through seamless integration with VMware vCenter using VADP (vStorage API for Data Protection), streamlining the process and enhancing efficiency for VMware users.
